Girls Varsity Golf · Evelyn Theinert & Coach Boessler Earn Exemplary Sportsmanship Reports!

Congratulations to CHS sophomore golfer Evelyn Theinert and CHS Head Girls Golf Coach Tara Boessler for receiving Exemplary Sportsmanship Reports from the IHSAA!  a spectator filed the following reports after watching Concord play in the Girls Golf Sectional on September 15 at Cobblestone Golf Course.

Evelyn Theinert:  I had the privilege of watching Brooke (golfer from Carroll HS)and Evelyn display a level of sportsmanship and competitiveness during the Golf Sectional.  When one of the two had a “rough hole” the other would encourage the other.  Both young ladies never lost composure if they had tough shot. This was fun to watch two young ladies compete yet encourage each other.  

Coach Boessler:  During the Golf Sectional two coaches kept rising to the top of the class in both class, teaching and putting “kids first” – I witnessed these coaches help other athletes for other teams (a ride to the 10th tee) a calming word to a golfer from another team. And a class to “win” and a class to “not win” Coach Koehlingers team did not advance, he was the first to congratulate the other schools. Coach Boessler spent time to talk to a few golfers who did not advance. Two very classy coaches and the respective athletes from these schools displayed sportsmanship and class.  Two class Coaches / Two Class programs / Teaching Life lessons through Golf!

Concord High is very proud of both Evelyn and Coach Boessler for representing our school and community with class and showing that education-based athletics are about much more than the final score.  Each received a commemorative sportsmanship pin, courtesy of the IHSAA.  Congratulations on a job well done!
