Catie Brenneman Wins 2026 IHSAA Girls Swimming Mental Attitude Award

Congratulations to Catie Brenneman for receiving the 2025-26 IHSAA Mental Attitude Award in Girls Swimming! To qualify for this award, a nominee must: 1. Be a student in grade 12. 2. Be nominated by the principal and coach. 3. Excel in mental attitude, athletic ability, scholarship and leadership during the four years in high school. 4. Be a state finalist participant in the sport nominated. 5. Be selected by members of the IHSAA Executive Committee. 6. Meet minimum academic requirements of one of the following: a. S.A.T. of 1000 (Verbal & Math scores only) or; b. A.C.T. of 21 or; c. Class rank in top 25% Catie becomes the fifth Concord recipient of an IHSAA Mental Attitude Award. The others were: Steve Gordon (Football) - 1984 Paula Skeels (Softball) - 1985 Russ Mann (Football) - 1998 Grace Brenneman (Girls Swimming) - 2022 This is also the first time in IHSAA Girls Swimming history that two siblings have won the award (Grace Brenneman in 2022 and Catie Brenneman in 2026).
