Brandon Hourigan Named as Fitness and Performance Center Director

Concord High School is pleased to name Brandon Hourigan as the Director of the Fitness and Performance Center. He will begin his duties on April 14, 2025. Mr. Hourigan holds a Bachelors Degree from Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH and a Masters Degree from Clemson University in Clemson, SC. Mr. Hourigan brings over 20 years of experience to the job. He most recently served as Director of Strength and Conditioning, Football at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Prior to that he spent seven years as Director of Sports Performance, Football at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Before arriving at Wake Forest he had stops as Strength and Conditioning Coach at Bowling Green University, The University of Virginia, The University of Richmond, Northeastern University, The University of Arizona, and Clemson University. Throughout these stops he oversaw programming for a wide variety of sports. He was also a strength and conditioning intern for the Kansas City Chiefs in 1999. As Fitness and Performance Center director at Concord, Hourigan will work with the wellness teachers and head coaches to implement strength and conditioning programming as well as culture development for athletes and staff alike. He will also work closely with the athletic training staff to specifically tailor rehab programs for athletes returning from injuries. Programming will be offered both during the school day and after school as well as in the summer. “We are excited to welcome Brandon to the Concord Family,” said Dave Preheim, Concord High School Athletic Director. “While we have a first-class facility, we know that the key to maximizing the potential of our athletes is to have an expert to not only implement programming, but more importantly set a positive culture. Brandon has significant experience working with coaches and athletes in a variety of sports. We are confident he will be able to use that experience to quickly build relationships and set a culture that our kids want to be part of. We can’t wait for him to get started!”
