Brandon Abel has been named to the position of Social Studies Teacher / Girls Basketball Head Coach at Concord High School, pending school board approval on May 15, 2023. Abel is a graduate of Jimtown High School and Ferris State University. He has been Girls Varsity Assistant and Girls JV Head Coach at Edwardsburg (Michigan) High School since 2017. He also coached a variety of levels of both boys and girls at Big Rapids (Michigan) and Edwardsburg High Schools from 2014-2017. He is currently a curriculum research specialist and girls basketball coach at Five Star Life in Elkhart. “We’re very pleased to have Brandon join our teaching and coaching staff,” said Dave Preheim, Concord High School Athletic Director. “He comes from a successful program at Edwardsburg and has been around basketball in various forms and levels his whole life. We look forward to him getting things rolling with not only our high school athletes, but our feeder system kids as well.”
