Concord Boys Swimming – 2022-23 IHSAA Sectional Champions!

Congratulations to the Concord Boys Swimming Team who won the 2022-23 IHSAA Sectional Championship Meet on February 18, 2023 at Concord High School. This is Concord’s sixth Sectional Championship overall and fourth in a row in Boys Swimming. Other Sectional Championships came in 1991, 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Concord placers in the top eight in each event were: 200 Medley Relay Team of Cole Stevenson, Austin Zimmerman, Reid Sollars, and Brayden Sollars were Sectional Champions in a time of 1:36.15! 200 Freestyle – Tommy Brunner (second), Will Delio (third), Zach McDonald (sixth). 200 Individual Medley –Cole Stevenson (second), Ivan Blystiv (fourth), Camden Stutsman (fifth) 50 Freestyle – Brayden Sollars (third), Austin Zimmerman (sixth). Diving – Alan Arriaga Perez (third). He advances to the Mishawaka diving regional on February 21. 100 Butterfly – Ivan Blystiv – Sectional Champion in a time of 52.08! Camden Stutsman was second. 100 Freestyle – Reid Sollars (sixth) and Zach McDonald (eighth). 500 Freestyle – Tommy Brunner – Sectional Champion in a time of 4:39.48! Will Delio placed fifth and Alex Navarro placed sixth. The 200 Freestyle Relay Team of Austin Zimmerman, Brayden Sollars (getting ready for another event) Will Delio, and Tommy Brunner placed third. 100 Backstroke – Reid Sollars (seventh) 100 Breaststroke – Cole Stevenson placed second in a school record time of 56.16. Brayden Sollars placed third in 56.75. Both times beat the state standard, making them both automatic state qualifiers! 400 Freestyle Relay team of Tommy Brunner, Ivan Blystiv, Reid Sollars, Cole Stevenson – Sectional Champions in a time of 3:14.66.
