The Concord Girls Swimming Team had a fantastic weekend at the IHSAA State Finals on Friday and Saturday, February 19 and 11, 2023. Concord placed sixth as a team, behind Carmel, Fishers, Penn, Hamilton Southeastern, and Zionsville. This is our second-highest placing ever as a team, following last year’s fourth-place finish! Here is a summary of our placings: Event 1 – 200 Medley Relay Team of Ella Lantz, Bella Sponseller, Sophia Stutsman, and Mya Ernsberger placed eighth in a time of 1:46.43. Event 2 – 200 Freestyle: Catie Brenneman placed fifth in 1:49.83. Event 4 – 50 Freestyle: Audrey Lantz placed eighth in 23.90. Event 5 – One Meter Diving: Ryleigh Robinson placed 11th with a score of 384.30. Event 6 – 100 Butterfly: Sophia Stutsman placed eleventh in 56.43. Audrey Lantz placed fifteenth in 57.45. Event 7 – 100 Freestyle: Ella Lantz placed fifteenth in 53.15. Event 8 – 500 Freestyle: Catie Brenneman placed eighth in 5:03.02. Event 9 – 200 Freestyle Relay Team of Audrey Lantz, Mya Ernsberger, Bella Sponseller, and Catie Brenneman placed fifth in 1:36.13. Event 10 – 100 Backstroke: Ella Lantz placed thirteenth in 57.29. Event 12 – 400 Freestyle Relay Team of Catie Brenneman, Sophia Stutsman, Ella Lantz, and Audrey Lantz placed fourth in 3:27.49.
