Congratulations to the Concord Boys Swimming Team who won the 2021-22 IHSAA Sectional Championship Meet on February 19, 2022 at Northridge High School. This is Concord’s fifth Sectional Championship in Boys Swimming, with others coming in 1991, 2018, 2020, and 2021. Concord placers in the top eight in each event were: 200 Medley Relay: The team of Derek Angel, Brayden Sollars, Cole Stevenson, and Ethan Davies were Sectional Champions in a school record time of 1:35.66, breaking the old record of 1:36.90! 200 Freestyle: Tommy Brunner – Sectional Champion! Will Delio was sixth; Caleb McDonald was seventh. 200 Individual Medley: Cole Stevenson – Sectional Champion! Derek Angel was seventh. 50 Freestyle: Brayden Sollars placed second and Austin Zimmerman placed fifth. One Meter Diving: Ethan Smith placed second and Garrett Stewart placed eighth. Ethan advances to the Diving Regional on February 22 at Valparaiso High School. 100 Butterfly: Michael DeBartolo placed fifth, Reid Sollars sixth, & Drew Krause eighth. 100 Freestyle: Ethan Smith placed second and Caleb McDonald placed eighth. 500 Freestyle: Tommy Brunner – Sectional Champion! Will Delio placed fourth and Ben Ramer placed fifth. Thanks to Sam Carnall and Alex Navarro for accepting on behalf of Tommy and Will while they were getting ready for another event. 200 Freestyle Relay: The team of Brayden Sollars, Austin Zimmermann, Will Delio, and Tommy Brunner placed second. Thanks to Drew Krause for accepting on behalf of Brayden Sollars while he was getting ready for another event. 100 Backstroke: Ethan Davies placed third and Derek Angel placed seventh. Thanks to Sam Carnall for accepting on Derek’s behalf while he was preparing for another event. 100 Breaststroke: Cole Stevenson placed second, Brayden Sollars third, and Ben Ramer fifth. Cole made the state cut time to automatically advance to the State Meet!
